Resists Oil Breakdown

Some motor oils break down and significantly increase in viscosity (they becoming thicker) after extended periods of high temperature operation. These changes can cause excessive oil consumption, engine deposits, accelerated wear and difficult cold starts.

Low-Speed Pre-Ignition Protection

Low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) is the spontaneous ignition of the fuel/air mixture prior to spark-triggered ignition, which can destroy pistons and connecting rods. To maintain performance while meeting increasingly challenging emissions standards, many newer engines feature gasoline direct injection (GDi) coupled with a turbocharger. Both technologies can increase the possibility of destructive LSPI events.
